Class on Tuesday began with a lovely snack form Miss Katie! Who doesn't like donuts? During snack we read a fantastic story called, "Boston Tea Party" written by Pamela Duncan Edwards. If you have a chance to get it from the library it is a great book to read together.
Our activities for today focused on exploring with the senses. So much of what we do with our body and voice during a dramatic presentation is about communicating a message effectively. In order to communicate some messages you need to have had some experience with those ideas or messages.
After discussing different aspects of the first Thanksgiving and some family traditions we all keep the children participated in a narrative pantomime to help them connect with how to portray actions and feelings associated with the first Thanksgiving. From spring planting through the main meal and celebration we thought about and acted out each part.
